If you have a later model KitFox or Avid Flyer and are either tired of the two stroke blues or just prefer a 4 stroke engine to fly behind, Great Plains Aircraft offers a fairly complete firewall forward package for both of these aircraft. You can install our 2180cc 70 HP VW engine kit, engine mount, exhaust system, spinner set and complete cowling set for about the cost of the Rotax installation kit. The engine features electric start, 20 amp alternator, carb, intake manifold, oil cooler etc. ... This engine kit takes about 12 hours to assemble.


The Avid Flyer and KitFox can either use a
2180cc direct drive engine
with Accessory Packages 1 & 6
or
2180cc Reduction Drive engine
