This unit drives the prop off the flywheel end of the engine. Torque is transmitted to the prop through a torsional rubber dampener that "floats" on the flywheel.

All thrust and radial loads are taken up at the thrust bearing located in the nose of the Rear Drive System. Great Plains Rear Drive System Long Block Kits are specifically desiged to transmit maximum power to the Rear Drive System. These kits feature every part necessary to assemble the entire long block engine. All machine work has been completed, such as cylinder head boring, cc'ing the heads, case boring, clearancing for stroke, etc.

The 2180cc engine with Rear Drive weighs 180 lbs. (This does not include the caruretor, intake or the prop. The Rear Drive Unit itself weighs 37 lbs.)

You can assemble the kit yourself or we will assemble, test run, crate and ship the engine to you.

All parts are 100% new, except for the reconditioned rocker arms and rebuilt German connecting rods (2180cc kit).

Premium Rear Drive Package:

Includes Rear Drive System Housing, support bracket, bearing, bearing retainer, drive shaft, prop hub, steel face plate, nut, cotter pin, dampener, drive studs, flywheel, starter, rear mount bracket, 40 amp alternator, pulley, belt, 71032 bushings, 90 degree cap, 009 Distributor, plugs, wires, distributor clamp and you will just need to add intake, mount, carb and exhaust. Bosch 009 distributor can be fitted with Compu-Fire for an additional $249.95.

Stock Rear Drive Kit:

Includes Rear Drive System Housing, support bracket, bearing, bearing retainer, driveshaft, prop hub, steel face plate, nut, cotter pin, dampener, drive studs, flywheel, starter and rear mount bracket.
