Our engine kits contain all the necessary parts and components to assemble the engine yourself. The kits come complete with our Type 1 Engine Assembly Manual. We also offer support for our products over the telephone, mail, E-mail and by fax.
Assembled and test run engines.
We can assemble, test run, crate and ship your engine for you, if you feel uncomfortable or are too busy to assemble it.
Accessories for your engine and project.
From motor mounts, intake systems, exhaust systems, braking systems, tires and tubes, etc. We carry these items for many of the well known VW powered aircraft. If specialized parts are required, we can suggest speciality shops to have these items built for you.

FRONT DRIVE · REDUCTION DRIVE · REAR DRIVE

Front Drive. Direct drive, driven off the pulley end (Type 1 only) for standard aircraft configuration. The Front Drive engine turns counter clockwise from the cockpit in a tractor configuration. Wooden props ONLY must be used. |

Reduction Drive. Driven off the pulley end of the crankshaft. Available in 2.0:1, 1.6:1 and 1.29:1 Drive Ratios. Drive Ratio 1.29 to 1 is for shorter props, 50 inch to 56 inch in diameter. Drive Ratio 1.6 to 1 is for 72 inch to 74 inch props and the Drive Ratio 2.0 to1 is for those aircraft requiring 80 inch to 84 inch props. The Reduction Drive can deliver over 100 takeoff Horsepower (depending on engine size) and 70 to 80 continuous Horsepower. The prop turns counter clockwise from the cockpit (tractor installation). Use of wood, composite or adjustable props. Fits Type 1 VW Only. |

Rear Drive. Driven off the flywheel end, direct drive. This smooth running engine provides slightly higher horsepower from the same Type 1 engine. All thrust loads and radial loads are taken up at the thrust bearing located in the nose of the Rear Drive System. Prop turns clockwise from the cockpit. Use of wood, composite or adjustable props are acceptable (call for the approved list). |

These kits are available to convert your 1600cc to an 1835cc
or your1835cc to an 2180cc engine.
This kit includes the engine case and the parts within. It does not include pistons, cylinders, heads, etc.
