Great Plains Cylinder Heads. These are stock, new VW OEM 040 castings. We install new intake and exhaust valves, new springs, new keepers, new retainers, silicone bronze valve guides and leak test all heads prior to shipping. In addition, all heads are cc d to 49 to 50cc so you can maintain an even cc volume for each cylinder/cylinder head. This will help produce a very smooth running engine.

These heads feature 39mm intake and 35.5mm exhaust valves. Each head weighs 1.25 pounds more than our standard 040 head. The increased mass resists warpage and provides superior heat dissipation. Add $49.50 per pair to machine for 92mm or 94mm (which will take approximately 10 days for machine work). Fits standard 3/4" reach plug. Heads are 100% complete. Intended for use on slower aircraft, gyros, but can be used on any aircraft.

Dual Ignition - Machine Work

If you plan on running dual ignition, we can install the second set of spark plugs in cylinder heads you purchase from us, or heads you send in to us. We install the second set of plugs on the bottom of the head, in between the pushrod tubes. In our 22+ years of modifying heads in this manner, not one has broke between the new hole, valve seat or valve guide. Spark plugs are accessible with standard socket wrench. If you have an older HAPI, TEC, Mosler or RevMaster dual port engine, our heads will work on your engine. Standard size is 10mm.
